A lot of work goes into creating a wedding show display, so we made a last minute decision to take full advantage of the design work and we called on our vendor friends to help. Once the wedding show was over, we moved all of our decor down to the Rocket Room where the lovely staff at Rocket Bakery welcomed us and even contributed some delicious treats for the shoot the next day.
We enlisted the help of Maddie Mills Photo to capture the details of our fresh green and yellow color scheme and invited Nadia Ali Hair & Make-up Artistry to participate. Nadia also modeled for us, along with Janine’s little girl Peyton who came down after school to play dress up. It was such a fun day and we’re so glad our vendor friends all jumped at the chance to help us create a little bit of magic… here is the result:
We are very lucky to have great relationships with so many of the amazing people in the wedding industry here in Newfoundland. We love working at Rocket, and we always enjoy the opportunity to work with Maddie Mills and Nadia Ali – nothing but good things to say about this fantastic group of vendors!
Check out our Facebook page for another recent photo shoot we did with Maddie & Nadia 😉
Last week we were excited to find out that our nature inspired styled elopement shoot had been featured on Styled in Lace, an online publication that focuses exclusively on east coast weddings.
We had quite an adventure preparing this pretty little woodland photo shoot on the East Coast Trail recently. Read more about that on the Styled in Lace website: http://www.styledinlace.com
Here are some of our favourite photos from the day…
Can you believe those flowers are all artificial? Such a great idea for an elopement or destination wedding, silk floral is actually becoming more and more popular for traditional weddings as well.
One of the great things about our services at By Sharpe Design is that we can alleviate stress by taking care of many different aspects of your event. Wedding Invitations and stationery? We make ’em! Fresh or silk floral for bouquets, centerpieces, etc? That’s our jam! Design and decorating? We LOVE to make it pretty! Rentals for DIY weddings? We can help with that too! Choose one, some, or all of our services to help you plan a cohesive event.
Please check out all of the amazing LOCAL vendors featured in this editorial elopement shoot!

This weekend past we decorated a gorgeous wedding at The Bungalow in Bowring Park – it’s always nice to work with our friends at Red Oak Catering at this charming venue. Here are some photos we took with our new camera…
We designed this custom sign with a lovely fresh floral garland accent and must confess… we love the way it turned out. Greenery is definitely one of our favourite trends of 2017 and we’d be perfectly happy if this trend stuck around forever! 🙂
Our floral designer knocked it outta the park with this bouquet – so pretty!
Sweet little boutonniere for the groom
Fresh floral… is there anything better?
Pub tables like to get all dressed up too!
Beautiful floral compote
Our lace overlays look lovely on top of our champagne tablecloths
Clean, sparkling glass!
The Bungalow fireplace – from drab to fab!
Have we mentioned how much we love candlelight?
It’s all about the details! We say that a lot… but it’s true 🙂
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
This wedding came together quickly and easily. All of the coordination with Valerie and Julian took place while they were on another continent – within just two months of them contacting us for the first time! They were truly a pleasure to communicate with and we loved having some creative freedom to run with their ideas. Thanks you two!
Gotta say, it’s great to be getting back to our summer routine with wedding season in full swing, despite our ongoing displacement from our home base in Churchill Square. We are making it work and have some plans for a temporary solution – stay tuned! 🙂
Flower crowns are a very popular request for brides, flower girls, photo shoots with children, etc. We offer a full range of custom artificial floral designs, including but not limited to headpieces, flower wands, bouquets, boutonnieres, garlands, centerpieces, altar arrangements, corsages, and so much more!
We have a huge selection of silk flowers available for purchase in our gift shop if you’re going the DIY route, and we’re always happy to create custom bouquets, arrangements, etc. Some ideas can be seen below, but this is just the tip of the iceberg!
If you’d like to discuss custom floral creations, please get in touch! In addition to artificial flowers, we also offer a fresh floral design service.
Here is another gorgeous wedding from this past summer at Clovelly, captured by Annette Whelan Photography. Enjoy!
Here are a few more photographs taken by our team just after setting up…
Thank you to Maggie & Mark for entrusting By Sharpe Design with the floral & décor on your big day – we hope it was everything you dreamed it would be!
Today we have some gorgeous images to share from Nate & Nicole Photography! Check out that iceberg shot…
We also snapped a few pictures of the ceremony & reception set-up, shown in the next two galleries (you will surely be able to tell the difference from the pro pics!) First we have some shots of the ceremony which we snapped just after setting up…
And then we re-staged the room for the Reception and took a few pictures of that as well…
Last, but not least, we have one more fantastic picture – absolutely LOVE this exterior shot of Clovelly! Thank you to Nate & Nicole Photography for sharing these photos with us. Check out the rest of their album
We feel so fortunate to have built such a wonderful working relationship with the staff at Clovelly. It is one of our favourite venues, and we’re extremely grateful for the many referrals they’ve sent our way.
Thank you to all the local venues, photographers, wedding professionals, and clients who make all this hard work worthwhile!
Here are some more gorgeous photos from Maria Hillier Photography, featuring our floral & decor (and all the little details in between)…
And a side view of the bouquet showing the wrap details.
Here’s another view
We design table numbers to coordinate with each event.
Pretty little vintage bottle trio with fresh stems of floral.
Pretty details like ribbon on the napkins add a nice pop of colour on the tables.
We create coordinating seating charts for each event to tie in with the rest of the reception stationery.
Love the use of twine and clothespins to hold the seating cards.
Empty vases waiting for the bridal party bouquets…
And here are the vases in action with Bridesmaid bouquets.
Lovely Cake with fresh floral & greens
The snow is starting to come down out there, stay cozy and enjoy your weekend everyone!
This wedding took place at The Bungalow in Bowring Park on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in September. The ceremony took place outdoors with a cocktail reception immediately following inside. This is just one example of how to use bolder colours in a soft and pretty way.
Don’t you love the ladder they built for the ceremony backdrop? It looks so sweet accented with the fresh floral we provided. Thanks so much to Maria Hillier for sharing these beautiful images with us!
If you are a local photographer or a former client and would like to be featured on our blog, please leave us a comment here and we will be in touch.
Have a great weekend!
We loved every little thing about this August wedding at YellowBelly Brewery, let’s skip right to the pictures!
First we have some gorgeous photos captured by the talented team at Wild & Heart Photography…
Next we’re delighted to share the beautiful desserts created by Petite Sweet for Lana & Jon. We were especially smitten with the shortbreads that Maria hand-decorated based on the custom dessert cards and other paper products we designed for this reception. Absolutely stunning work by Maria & Genny, as always.
Here are a few other photos we snapped quickly of the room decor and floral after we finished setting up…
We welcome submissions from our clients, if you would like to connect us with your photographer and be featured here on our blog or website gallery. Our focus is primarily on the weddings where we have provided full service decor & floral 🙂
Also, if you’re a local newlywed you should check out Styled in Lace, an east coast wedding blog that features weddings in the Atlantic provinces! Ask your photographer for permission to submit your un-watermarked photos and you just might get featured.
